A DAY OF UNITY, COMMITMENT & DETERMINATION – NRMU KONKAN RAILWAY
1st October 2026 — a day filled with relentless organisational activity, workers’ commitment and renewed determination!From a charitable programme at a Primary School in Cortalim, to a scheduled meeting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, and finally to the NRMU Divisional Council Meeting of both Konkan Railway regions at Madgaon, our respected GS NRMU, Com. Venu P. Nair Ji, once again demonstrated the spirit of a leader who remains constantly connected with workers and their concerns. From 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Madgaon Union Office reverberated with the powerful slogans of our comrades as they warmly welcomed Com. Venu P. Nair Ji.
The slogans were not merely words — they reflected the trust, affection and confidence of the comrades in their organisation and leadership.
Com. Satish Habbu, DS Karwar, warmly welcomed all the guests and comrades. Com. Seth W.P.called upon the comrades to gear up with full organisational preparedness for the forthcoming Konkan Railway election and intensify direct contact with every worker.
Com. John Oommen, AGS, emphasised the importance of “Mazdoor Awaaz”, the voice of the Union, and urged comrades to strengthen its reach among the membership. Com. Kumar Ghosalkar, AGS, highlighted the remarkable journey and achievements of NRMU since 2005, reminding comrades that every achievement has been the result of sustained struggle, unity and dedicated organisational work. Branch Secretaries from Kankavli, Ratnagiri, Chiplun and Belapur, along with those from Udupi, Karwar, Verna and Madgaon, presented their branch activities, achievements and current membership position.
The presentations reflected the hard work being carried out at the grassroots level and the growing organisational strength across both regions of Konkan Railway. Then came the most inspiring moment of the meeting.Our respected GS NRMU, Com. Venu P. Nair Ji, addressed the comrades with his characteristic thundering, energetic and inspiring speech, filling the gathering with renewed confidence and determination. He congratulated the entire organisation for the mass-contact campaign during the Mass CL agitation from Roha to Thokur, appreciating the unity and disciplined participation of comrades across Konkan Railway.Reach every worker.Listen to every worker.Stand with every worker.Make every worker aware of what NRMU has achieved and what it continues to fight for. Because a Union is not built merely inside offices*a Union is built in the hearts of its workers.*

Promotion of staff Long-pending Engineering staff absence issues Medical policy matters Retirement & VRS-related issues Transfer cases Financial assistance Improvement in duties and working conditions Improvement of offices and facilities LDCE/GDCE examinations Resolution of long-pending employee grievances Com. Venu P. Nair Ji reminded every comrade that discipline, accessibility, humility and constant contact with workers are the foundation of a strong trade union. Maintain good relations with workers.Understand their problems.
Stand beside them in difficult times.
And wherever possible, find solutions to their genuine grievances.
This is the spirit of NRMU. This is the strength of workers’ unity. And this is the responsibility of every NRMU comrade.
Com. Venu P. Nair Ji thanked all comrades for their patient hearing, wholehearted participation and continued commitment to the organisation. Com.
