NRMU Open Meeting at Madgaon – A Resounding Call for Unity & Action!

Following the successful AGM of NRMU Karwar Branch, the NRMU team, led by Com. Venu P. Nair, General Secretary, NRMU, proceeded by road to Madgaon to address a massive Open Meeting held near the station premises.

From 4:00 PM onwards, comrades gathered in large numbers at Madgaon Railway Station, eagerly awaiting the arrival of their beloved leader. As Com. Venu P. Nair reached the venue, the atmosphere came alive with thunderous slogans of NRMU Zindabad and “Hamara Neta Kaisa Ho, Venu Nair Jaisa Ho!”, reflecting the enthusiasm and confidence of the members.

The meeting was organised to motivate and mobilise railway employees for the Mass Casual Leave (CL) Drive and Agitation on 10th August 2026, demanding justice on the long-pending and unresolved issues affecting Konkan Railway employees**.

Com. K.K. Shet, Working President, NRMU, addressed the gathering in detail on the agitation notice issued by the union and appealed to every employee to participate wholeheartedly in the upcoming movement for their rights and welfare.

In his powerful and inspiring address, Com. Venu P. Nair strongly criticised the indifferent attitude of the KRCL Administration towards resolving employees’ genuine grievances. He emphasised that the union remains firmly committed to protecting the interests of every railway employee and called upon all comrades to ensure the grand success of the agitation.

He also highlighted critical issues concerning the poor condition of Konkan Railway tracks, the concerns of Running Staff, and the urgent need for the administration to address these matters with seriousness and responsibility.

The spirit of the gathering reached new heights with energetic slogan shouting led by **Com. John, Assistant General Secretary, NRMU**, boosting the morale and determination of all comrades present.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Com. Dineshan D.P., following which the meeting concluded successfully at 6:00 PM. Thereafter, Com. Venu P. Nair departed for Ratnagiri by train to continue the organisational campaign.
