70th TGCM of NRMU(CR/KR) set a milestone in Railway Trade Union History The priliminary segment of the 70th TGCM -2024, the inaugural session which was held at CSMT Rly. auditorium, followed by a grand worker’s rally and demonstration of the strength of the union in the evening was held on 21st January at Mumbai CSMT.
The inaugural session of the TGCM was honoured with the gracious presence of GM/C.Rly Shri. Dharamveer Meena, PCPO/C.Rly and DRM/BB and the session was inaugurated lighting treditional lamp. All the distinguished dignitaries were duly felicitated with shawl , flower & sweet chocolate bouquets and complimentary gifts. The session was presided over by Com. Kamakshi Bagalwadikar President of NRMU (CR/KR). The welcome address and introductory brief was given by General Secretary Com.Venu P Nair.
While welcoming GM, PCPO & DRM Com. Venu P Nair Explained the legacy of NRMU (CR/KR) whose disciplined cadres are always imbibed and infused with the sense of sincerity and dedication towards their duties and at the same time upkeep of their unwavering commitment and trust towards strengthening the union to protect their rights and privileges as well.
He further informed the audience about the interaction he had with the GM and his efforts to draw his attention to the issues of huge number of unfilled vacancies existing in C.Rly, the over delayed conduct of GDCE/LDCE examinations, non consideration of VRS of safety category staff, non implementation of IRT/IDT/Mutual/Spouse ground transfers, CG Appointments, and early judicious disposal of Med.Unfit cases and others.
Appreciating the unprecedented gesture of pride and honour GM shown to recieve and upkeep the record number of six Rly.Board performance Shields achieved by C.Rly, he urged GM to look into the most genuine issues that has created a lot of resentment among the highly educated young workers which constitute about 69% of the workforce aspiring for their promotional prospects and redressal of other legitimate demands.
While delivering the message of thanks and compliments to the GS NRMU (CR/KR) for inviting him to the event, GM has extended warm greetings for the success of the 70th TGCM of NRMU (CR/KR) being held from 21st January to 23rd January 2025 at Mumbai. He also congratulated GS for the grand victory of NRMU (CR/KR) contesting the election in December 2024 for recognition of Union in C.Rly on its own strength against a combined alliance of different political and religious affiliated unions.
GM thereafter acknowledged the fact that the issues shared by GS to him will be looked into on priority. He said that the absorption process of new recruits to fill up the vacancies are in the advanced process and will be cleared as fast as possible. He further agreed to consider the pending cases of the VRS applicants from safety catagories and will take care of the speedy disposal of Med.Unfit cases in favour of the employee or his/her wards to the extend possible. PCPO Shri.Bajpai and DRM/BB Shri. Hiresh Meena applauded the strength of NRMU (CR/CR) and the progressive and constructive outlook of General Secretary Com.Venu P Nair as a trade union leader to maintain a peaceful and cordial relationship between the railway management balancing the requirements of railway operations and fulfilling the protection of its workfoce from injustice and exploitation.The inaugural session was moderated by Com. Sandeep Jadhav Z/Tr. & AIRF WCM and was concluded by Com. Kamakshi Bagalwadikar President delivering vote of thanks.
